“Vineland High School was found to be the most concentrated area in Cumberland County for juvenile arrests, according to data compiled in 2012 by the Senator Walter Rand Institute at Rutgers University–Camden.

Though Bridgeton has a higher rate of juvenile arrests,Vineland High School’s North and South buildings and the Wawa across the street on South Brewster Road, was found to be the most concentrated area for juveniles arrests.

In order to continue its pursuit of reducing juvenile crime in Cumberland County, the Cumberland County Positive Youth Development Coalition is seeking to deepen its partnership with school districts in Bridgeton, Millville and Vineland.

The coalition aims to reduce juvenile arrests by intervening and addressing youth arrested early on in their lives and diverting them from further entering into a life rooted in perpetual crime. The coalition uses various programs involving community leaders, law enforcement agencies and statistical analysis.”
